Thor, I helped stop the black panthers in Waterbury CT. With their riots in the 1960s. I didn’t kill any of them. Only on panther was ever shot. He said it was an accident. His friend was cleaning his gun when it went off. He had one wound in his leg and one on the right cheek of his face.

I know that we were in a bad gang fights not only on long hill. There were many gun shots. I don’t know who was shooting. I thought they were shooting at us. Or shooting in the air to scare us which did not work.

They outnumbered us, but it was them that ran to escape. Then we ran because the cops were coming. And this now is funny. Before the fight started four of us were dropped off to hide behind a building where the traffic light was. We were there because a woman with her child in the car had stopped at that light and the panthers and there followers threw rocks at her car and her child was injured. She of course was a white woman.

It was in the newspaper. So our Rat Pack took action.

And as we hid behind the building our car had left and came back with five guys. The car had writings with white shoe polish that could be washed of cursing the panthers up and down.

Finally after a couple of trips, there was enough panthers and backers that attacked the car. When all were in the street, then we attacked. The fight was on. I remember that I stopped one of our guys, called mad dog, from seriously hurting one of them and the time had come to get lost because we heard sirens.

Now you can laugh at our mistake. How were we going to fit nine guys in one car?

One of our guys took off through he woods, I was in the car with my back against the celling. And we were gone too.

Our guy that went through the woods and later called the club house when we got back there and we sent a girl to pick him up on Lakewood rd.
