I'm having a problem with this word salad metaphor. Because it sounds great to me.
Salads are probably the most diverse, artistic, unique expressions of cooking. You can go in so many different directions with salad, it's hard to see them as a negative.
In my house, I typically make a 'goodie' salad, meaning the lettuce is really just a side show, and the main event are all the goodies.
Artichoke hearts, olives, corn, hardboiled eggs, meat, noodles, beans, seeds, vegetables, fruit, not to mention so many different dressings.
But to the far right, this veritable cornucopia of flavor, art and diversity of foods, all mixed together, is offensive to them. They want even their salads to be as boring and homogeneous as possible.
No wonder they don't like sex as much as we do. If it's anything like their salads, it's practically mechanical, if they get any at all.
