I've written/played/and (the important part here) recorded music for decades.. I'm really good at drawing out vocal intelligibility from a mix. I ran the audio through a couple of processor thingies. He completed the 'nig' (as in re'nig ) all the way to the glottal stop. the double "gg" and was halfway through the phonetic "er" when he caught himself
I sent my Speech Pathologist niece the link .. she said.. "He said it."
Now.. to me.. the really weird part of this saga is.. You claim to not hear it.. Why do you think that is?
