The left propaganda machine is great at misdirection The real story is a town of 55k approx has had to take on 15-20k new “citizens” of varying legal status in a few years. That’s almost impossible for a town this size to do. The mayor went into detail what has happened. The Biden Harris admin has failed miserably in managing the border and immigration. And they take zero responsibility. Why would they want to discuss the actual issue? When they can distract their easily manipulatable sheep with a focus on one meaningless side-story? I think this is all marketing at this point from Trump and Vance. More and more people are talking about Springfield, and even as they notice a lack of cat carcasses, they notice something else that's quite puzzling.
Why wouldn't Trump want to discuss the actual issue?
My own opinion is he knows his voters are fucking stupid.

Perhaps one of the most nefarious lies spread by an administration and its media sycophants was that Biden was sharp and focused. It was swallowed wholesale until Biden demonstrated the lie on live television. Cats are being eaten in Springfield by Haitian immigrants. It’s gross. How dare they? That Haitian thing is not about lying, it is about the candidate for president of the most powerful country in the world, saying right to the cameras that he believed this bogus, racist story, because he saw it on television. This is a person who cannot tell reality from TV. If having someone in that role who will make decisions based on TV does not bother you, then Donald is your guy.
