Bye for now. I have to feed my bird, then get ready for target practice this afternoon. Run away Archie.

Funny that after all these years of living with these OS's, rebooting is still the one sure-fire way of making them behave. Have we really come as far as we think? Freon I love many of the new technologies. I use them. I build raspberry pi based modems. My home stereo system - upstairs, down, outside. is all inter connected and I can control all the my phone. I enjoy photography and for my digital cameras and scanned negatives I have a large format photo printer. Amazing. However at work - communications and freedom from work - was far far better before texting and email. I’d say less than 3 percent of my received emails are useful. And there is no such thing as a vacation or 8-5 day. If you are in management. I have a few Pis doing interesting things as well, although I have not embraced home automation. I have been meaning to setup a Pi connected to colored LED lights along the roof, so at the holidays of the year, it automatically shows the appropriate colors, and I never have to deal with that again. Don't agree with the communications and freedom from work though. I am in management, and my philosophy for my teams is ZERO silos. Took a few years to convince them that this was a better way to go, and they DO have more work then they would if they were a widget that only performed one function, but now that I've convinced them, they are happier, more motivated, and anyone can take a vacation or get sick, knowing the work is still getting done. And that includes me. I could literally take off for weeks, and I would have zero concerns that my department is functioning normally. As to communications, I am strict about filtering spam when I see it, and we also have some good tech (proofpoint) doing auto filtering. Point is I rarely see spam. Whether personal or work, I'd say I might see 1 or 2 spam messages per week. I actually don't even notice them. Bummer you have so much. With a little modification in your behavior, could totally reverse your situation. Freon

Oh, he was angry all right, but not because of any lying. He believed he already won this election, just like in 2020, and now he has to process another loss. Freon Do you mean that the election will be stolen again? Only if he wins. Freon

Donald has you more worried about WWIII happening today, than in the 60s, when it actually almost happened more than once. That is incredible fear mongering and marketing, Donald's best (and only) skill, but it clearly only affects the weaker minded of us. Duck and Cover, archie. You remember that? Now why aren't we teaching our children that today, hmmm? Instead, we teach them how to deal with active shooters because THAT is more likely going to happen. MAD is still completely in effect. Donald has you worried about their nukes, but we have them as well, and we are the only country in the world who has actually used them in war. Not only that, we are the only country in the world that can have them flying over your country right now, and you wouldn't even know it. They can be parked off your coast, and you would never know. It's fine to fear things, archie. But fearing things that are highly improbable is paranoia. Freon Ha haha, it is better to think ahead than wait until it is too late democrat brain. Well in planning ahead, I agree with you. That's why you are going to lose this election. You didn't. Freon

I like the ones from Orange.. they'll run full version Android or Ubuntu .. the Raspberry runs a stripped down version of Unix.. It's fine for most applications . .. the learning curve isn't steep. I've even used the Intel NUC running Wonderware in industrial DA&C applications ..

Give the working people a break archie. Most only have weekends to do stuff and when a retiree takes up space on a weekend, they're just clogging up the flow. Quit clogging working people(and don't drive during rush hour).

Everyone running for president is. That's paranoia. I see ambition, but that does not necessarily connote corruption. Freon I wouldn't call it corruption. Absolutely no paranoia.

Yeah, huge fan of the NUCs, though early on, the tech was not reliable, got burned a few times. But as NVMe has become more reliable, so too have the NUCs. My needs of Linux are pretty light, so a full ver would likely be useless (as I'm just an amateur on that OS). The closest I come to a full Linux build is my NAS, and a few VMs running in AWS that run blockchain nodes. Over the years, I've tried to become a Linux lover, but I simply can't find a use for it that I cannot already do better with Windows. If you love Linux, I probably just said the craziest thing possible Freon
