They don't believe Trump is like Navalny because these liberals would have to admit the truth....that THEY are very similar to Putin....entitled, arrogant and unwilling to tolerate anyone that might challenge their power and agenda. Lemme see now. Navalny was sent to a gulag and Trump went to his golf course. I think I'm seeing the connection... Greg So, you and your ilk, Putin style, are NOT trying to send Trump to prison so he's no longer a threat to Dear Senile Leader, Joe Biden?
Did you notice that Navalny was free right up to the point that he wasn't?

Let's see now. Putin had Navalny killed and Trump tried to have Pence killed. Getting closer. Greg

When a woman taking a selfie inside the capital gets sentenced to 4 years in jail and a group of illegals beat the crap out of an officer and get set free, any sane person equates that to politics and policy.
Navaly was in jail and quite possibly killed because he was a political rival. What any sane person sees happening to trump is clearly politically motivated.
When prosecuting attorney generals run on a platform of I’ll find a crime to prosecute him on and the don’t file criminal charges but file a civil case - when both parties actually involved in the transaction are fine - it’s clearly a politically motivated case with zero merit.
And it scares the shit out of any average citizen to see what lengths and authoritarian state will go to to crush people with the “wrong” political opinion who speak out against the establishment.
But there is a strong undercurrent of people in society who do not wish to see us go the way of the ussr or China. Hopefully in time these autocrats running things will be brought down.

Yet there is no charge of attempted murder against trump And Greg is claiming trump tried to have pence killed And Greg doesn’t see what he is no different from Hitler’s brown shirts or any snitch working for Castro or Putin or Hitler. Completely bypassing due process, Greg makes conclusive convictions.

Does anyone actually believe that? Greg I guess I'm the board member living rent free in Greg's head.
Anyone that's not stupid KNOWS that to be true. Trump is either our Navalny or he's Emmanuel Goldstein to the left. Insane level of Trump-Slavery here.

There's another person who finds the comparison of Trump to Navalny totally absurd, Navalny himself. In a letter sent to a friend, a photographer named Evgeny Feldman, Navalny said former President Donald Trump's agenda for a second term was "really scary," according to the Times. He said if President Joe Biden were to have a health issue, "Trump will become president," adding: "Doesn't this obvious thing concern the Democrats?"
The only way for Trump to become president if Biden has a health issue, would be if Trump were to be Biden's running mate (VP).
That seems very unlikely.
Kamala Harris seems good enough. And I really don't think Joe Biden will have a health issue if he is elected to a second term.
I'd say it's too early to predict who will win in 2024. Donny will get a large chunk of the clueless moron vote. It's certainly possible for a man in his 80s to have a health issue, but it's not inevitable.

And didn't this come out recently while Navalny was in prison?
Navalny in the past stood up FOR Trump when Trump was banned from Twitter.
www.businessinsider.com/navalny-death-letters-trump-second-term-agenda-really-scary-2024-2It was from a letter or letters written recently. Just because someone stands up for someone else doesn't mean that he agrees with their political positions. Navalny also said that the 2020 election was conducted fairly. Trump makes the absurd comparison of himself with Navalny and all the wingnuts automatically nod their heads in agreement without a second thought. Hilarious, as is the idea that Biden is the same as Chavez, Castro, and Putin.

You're another one falling victim to spin and narratives that suggest Trump is comparing himself to Navalny When in fact, Trump is comparing the US govt to the Russian government.
It's not even subtle. It's an obvious point. And an obvious comparison.
And yet the American left can't hear it. As they can't hear so much of what constitutes the real struggle.
Also because the Holy Algorithm tells them that Trump is comparing himself to Navalny. That's a big part of the operation.

Yeah, gotta agree with Que, Trump was comparing countries, clearly too. It was the usual list of grievances that, when taken in the context of his "what about me!" worldview, was an apology to Putin. Here's how the conservative WProst (Polish weekly) sees it...

He's done both, and one is as absurd as the other. They're obviously loony comparisons, just another one of Trump's laughable cons. I don't know about the American left, but I've heard it and they probably think it's as clueless as I do. Donny is always looking for suckers to believe his latest scam and he always finds them in droves.

And that's the weakness of the American left and why they keep doubling down on stupid. The fact that you're joining them in their doubling down isn't exactly a surprise because you're only pretending you're not huffing the same crack pipe they do.
The US govt is behaving like an authoritarian government would. Has for a long time. It's simply gotten worse since the creation of the Dept of Homeland security and the normalization of the Patriot Act's spying powers as a routine part of national security.
Not like a democracy's government would.
And they are always finding new suckers for their scams. They're finding them in droves. Suckers sure do love hitting those crack pipes that give em dopamine hits.

When high level intelligence officers lie ... under oath during investigations ... to democratically elected governments ...
Is that more like Russia? Or more like our impression of the USA?
When intelligence depts in America spy on elected representatives of the People while those representatives are investigating the borderline illegal activities of said intelligence depts. Is it more like Russia? Or more like what we imagine the USA to be?
When defense officials lie to the democratically elected commander in chief about troop placements, withdrawals and military engagements. Is it more like Russia? Or more like what we imagine the USA to be?
I could do this all day.

The fact that we have 17 INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES (19 since then...) ...
(Still can't believe that's not the biggest part of "17 intelligence agencies agree" ...)
Is that more like Russia?
Or more like what we imagine the USA to be?

I suppose one could argue that one is somewhat more absurd than the other, but since they're both absurd that seems like a waste of time. The only doubling down is being done by Trump acolytes who will follow his nonsensical ideas down the nearest rabbit hole without realizing they've been hustled....again. There is no American equivalent to Putin's fake elections, state controlled media, lack of civil rights and freedom in general. I doubt even Donny's most loyal supporters would actually want to live in Putin's Russia.
