Interesting example on another thread from Archie, who "doesn't trust" Zelensky. Why? He doesn't know. That, my friend, is a propaganda success.
This is a rather religious and belief driven interpretation of that scenario. Mind you I haven't seen archie's post so bear with me.
It's more surprising to me that someone would simply "trust" the foreign leader of an Eastern bloc country he's never met and knows nothing about and whose entire purpose in life is saying whatever is necessary to keep the money and aid and fight going.
Who "trusts" people like that? And can they explain why they would? Because THAT is a propaganda success. Our entire country was built on not trusting our leaders. The problem we're facing in the US today is not that one half the country disbelieves and distrusts their leaders. It's that the rest of the time the other half believes and trusts them. Our system isn't built for trusting leadership. And it's certainly not built to trust the leaders of countries on the other side of the world our leaders were telling us were our enemies a hot 15 minutes ago.

I know many here would rather see Trump, but wouldn't be wonderful to be around when "Breaking News" says Putin died. Fell down the stairs and broke his neck. More likely trump will have committed suicide with his hands tied behind his back, feet hogtied, with two shots in the back of the head. And we will told to just move on. Accidents happen. Go play in traffic.

Archie is an exemplar of that fairly large set who think Zelensky has a huge bank balance, a yacht, and links to Nazi groups, because those messages from Russian intelligence have reached him. That's the propaganda success. Your characterisation of Zelensky is accurate, if one dimensional. It hints at two assumptions; that Zelensky is, as Americans assume, untrustworthy because he's a politician, and that Ukranian democracy/nationhood is a sham because Ukranians can't manage the selection of those required to manage their country. I would invite you, The Duke of Q, to reflect on that, agree with me, and swear undying allegiencw to the principles of social democracy, and hopefully rugby, too.

Wow, that is an impressive impersonation of trump's speech disorder! How did you manage it? You sound just as crazy and out of phase as he is.

All of this looks like attempts at propaganda to me.
Including "the principles of social democracy."
I do have to say that there's an assumption that "propaganda" has negative connotations. It doesn't. It's just propaganda. A tool for positive or negative.
And if Archie believes all of those things ... it's likely because he was listening to the left in America for the past 30 years, not Putin.
I mean Zelenskyy *does* have links to Nazi groups. That's been well established here on the boards. If Western media for the past 15 years is to be believe anyway ... (dot dot dot)
Zelenskyy *IS* a millionaire.
And I'm at a loss for why it's such a bone of contention that a wealthy actor in Ukraine might have a yacht. When the fact that he hangs out with two people who own yachts ... seems to be damning enough evidence of corruption here in the US if you're a SC Justice. Queshank

If that were true then trump would be a genius instead of a blundering fool... In the land of the blind the one eyed man is likely to be ostracized, you imbecile.

Or better, the power to replace them with better leaders. Something seems to be getting in the way of that doesn't it? Consistently for 8 years now the primary wish for all voters is "someone else to vote for." And it just never happens.
