Well, everything is lower than Cali, so... Also, VERY few people here get Earthquake insurance. It's not on a typical policy, you have to ask for it separately. I have it, and it's actually super cheap, but most (according to my insurance broker) don't even know they are not covered. Freon Did you know that california means "hot furnace"? Do you ever get any snow there? Serious? I'm never more than 2 hours from Skiing or going to the beach. There really are very few other places like Cali. Freon

Freon Well, unless you live in France, we have everything close, different types of mountains, the northern sea, the atlantic ocean and the mediterranean, different types of countrysides, wine countries... well we don't have everything, we don't have cyclones, tsunamis, earthquakes, long cold winters and deserts. I've been abroad in many countries and aside from deserts, tropics and frozen wastelands, most of the landscapes I see remind me of some place in France. So why would I want to live anywhere else?

Then you might like Cali. It's true, we get earthquakes, but so rarely, it's not something any of us ever think about. How about being able to wear shorts almost year round? We have 840 miles of stunning beaches, we have 250 miles of the Sierra Nevada mountains, plus deserts, forests, and dozens of islands. Two of the five highest waterfalls in the world. Tallest trees in the world. Incredible wine country, easily the equal of France. You can watch SpaceX launch rockets from Vandenberg AFB just north of Santa Barbara. There's Solvang, Gold Country, we have huge lakes, hot springs, river rapids, the list of topology is nearly endless. Not to mention Hollywood, Disneyland, world class zoos and all the other (boring) attractions we offer. And Mexico is just south, so you can visit Cabo San Lucas, Puerta Vellarta, Coronado, and many other spots within driving distance. And if you must, Vegas is a relatively short drive away on a single freeway. There really is no place like Cali. Freon

I dare you to come up here in the north and wear shorts when the temps are below 50.
Oh, maybe you mean only inside?

Well, the north part seems to attract the brightest people in the state: Stanford, UC Berkeley, Silicon Valley, etc... Making movies is not particularly demanding of brain power, after all. Memorize your lines, know your cues, and wear the right makeup. Piece of cake.

You have to be a bit more clever in attacking other posters here. This was too far in the grey area so one of the moderators could enforce one of the few rules around here. LOL
