Nelspots are cattle marking guns, and you could get them modified any way you wanted. Mine cost, in the 1980s, around $1000. CO2 tank, scope, silencer, exchangeable barrel, velocity adjustable. I remember playing paintball back in high school several times. Laser Tag is more fun though [With less of a chance of getting ruined clothes or a clean painful shot to the gonads. The reason Archie thinks that? Having little experience outside his right-wing bubble in life probably.

Laser Tag was also pretty cool. We used to go to parks late at night to play, about 20 of us. Heck, I had 3 BB guns, a 40lb recurve bow, slingshots, throwing stars, and on and on. But then I grew up. I realized that these weapons, while fun, glorify killing and harming, and that they should be taken seriously, not treated like a hobby. Additionally, although I have lived all over SoCal, I have never felt anything but safe. I leave my door unlocked fairly frequently, my neighbor across the street leaves their garage door open pretty much all the time. What do I need protection from? The only people who scare me are people like archie, who believe that they can use guns any way they choose. They are the danger, and if I knew archie was living near me, I just might get a gun for protection from him. Freon

I don't play paintball anymore. Prior to the position I currently hold, I was doing Homeland Security work. The weapons I got to play with were pretty cool. There was this one acoustic weapon used on ships which was frankly amazing. Very long range, and its cone of effect was incredibly narrow. If there were three people, side by side, you could target just the center person. I've used the latest in combat VR, with real weapons using blanks. I couldn't tell you what fully automatic weapons I have fired, because I don't know guns very well, but one looked like that one Rambo carried. Fun to fire, and I had pretty much unlimited ammo (since I was not paying for any of this). But again, these are professionals using guns, not citizens who have a hobby and want power. Freon

Yes, exactly. I don't think most liberal-minded people have any issue with the 2nd amendment, as long as it is used as intended; defense. It's when people like archie feel they need an arsenal that they can use any way they choose, especially as a vigilante, that we have an issue. Freon

Yes Archie... Yes it is...
Pro-Trump supporter who shot paintballs into downtown Portland crowd is sued for $250,000
A woman who says she was injured by a paintball fired by a pro-Trump supporter during a clash between right-wing and opposing demonstrators in downtown Portland last month has filed a $250,000 lawsuit against the man she says shot her.In her lawsuit filed Monday, Meg McLain says she was observing the rally next to the Multnomah County Justice Center on Aug. 22 when Alan Swinney intentionally shot her, leaving a large red welt and circular injury to one of her breasts.Swinney couldn’t be reached for comment Tuesday.
About 300 people attended the rally to support President Trump and police or to counterprotest. Supporters of the conservative group Proud Boys as well as the left-leaning Black Lives Matter and antifa movements were all present.
Swinney, who has described himself on social media as a conservative and a Trump supporter, was photographed by The Oregonian/OregonLive pointing the paintball gun toward a crowd of antifa or Black Lives Matter protesters and then seen shooting. He also was seen pointing what appeared to be a firearm at the crowd, but he did not shoot.
A journalist for Oregon Public Broadcasting also reported capturing video of Swinney shooting paintballs.

As someone who has actually BEEN in combat for real, what people like archie think they want, is not what they want. I am not looking for the trouble. But if it comes my way, I will win. I go to the range twice a week, and fire 90 rounds each time. I know that if I have to shoot at the enemies of my country, every round will be a hit. They are much bigger than the 4 inch diameter that I shoot at 50 yards week after week month after month for decades. And that is with a pistol. With my terrible AR- 15 I never miss out to a lot farther than a 100 yards. And just so you know, I have also competed in what is called silhouette shooting, If I can hit the goat target at 200 meters with my 44 magnum S&W revolver pistol, I am sure I can hit a BLM or ANTIFA criminal in my town with any of my guns. Yes I went shooting this morning, and I will again Sunday. And I have never met anyone there that is not for Trump. And I have only seen one sticker on a car for Biden, and that was weeks ago, and I have only seen one sticker that said “Dump Trump” and that was weeks ago. And I have seen many that say Trump 2020. Either the (D) backers are afraid to admit how they think, or there are not any.

And $1000 dollars seems like a lot. They don’t make much noise. ?? When the sport was new, the options for the guns was much more limited. There were no dedicated paintgun makers, just shops that would take the Nelspots, and modify them. And they were loud because the CO2 pressure was unregulated. By law now, I believe the ball cannot travel at greater than 300ft/s. But we used to crank it MUCH higher (and we would freeze the balls, so they HURT when you got hit). Why did I stop? A couple of reasons. One was time. Let's face it, a paintball gun day takes a full day. Another reason is that I felt the same thrill in online versions of people-hunting. I have been in online gaming since the late 80s, really starting with Doom, but eventually Tribes, Unreal Tournament, and then into MMORPGs, or MMOFPSs (like Planetside). Compared to those experiences, paintball became kind of boring and inconvenient. It's funny to me that you think that I, as a liberal, do not like weapons. I do. I likely have handled as many firearms as you (mostly military, and likely having no clue what they were), have killed more animals than you (thousands), and have spent more time hunting other humans than you (in online worlds). I just don't like the idea that one person can play G-d over another person. What I did, there was no chance of actual death. Death is permanent. There is no going back. When I hear you casually talk about it, I am sickened. Freon
