Madison signed the Constitution, not the Declaration of Independence. Let's hang him over it or maybe we can have Joe tell him to stand up again. What a gotcha moment. Might even change the the direction of the entire campaign. If you're going to lecture people about their lack of historical knowledge (even if only rhetorically), might want to proofread your own speech though. |

Or you could look at it as he made an error and then give him credit for getting up their in front of the nation and still getting his point across. Half empty/half full argument. These speeches are typically prepared in advance and rehearsed (since they're loaded into a teleprompter). It's the kind of thing that should've been caught well before the speech was made. But not much about this convention seems to have been well prepared or vetted. It speaks more to the overall sloppiness of the convention than necessarily him personally. |

Shit happens. Much like when a person gives a prepared speech and should know who he tells to stand up...but can't. Otherwise it shows that praise is being given to someone that the speech giver never bothered to find out about...patronizing gone astray. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. |
