Kyle Rittenhouse, the 17-year-old charged with shooting three people — two of them fatally — during a Kenosha protest Tuesday evening, thought of himself as a militia member trying to protect life and property, according to videos, interviews and social media posts.
Video shot in the hours before the shooting shows Rittenhouse hanging out with older armed men, who tell the reporter they're protecting a car lot. Rittenhouse then introduces himself as Kyle.
He also did a video interview with the Daily Caller in front of a boarded up building.
"People are getting injured and our job is to protect this business," Rittenhouse says in the clip. "And my job also is to protect people. If someone is hurt, I’m running into harm’s way. That’s why I have my rifle; I’ve gotta protect myself obviously. But I also have my med kit."
Among the armed men in the streets Tuesday was former Kenosha Ald. Kevin Mathewson, who is active in a group known as the Kenosha Guard. Mathewson posted a video selfie of the scene near the Kenosha government center Tuesday night. He did not return a phone message Wednesday.

As the father of a teenager, I cannot imagine what it's like to go down to the jail to see your son behind bars, charged with murder.

Democrats are reaping what they sow. The violence is coming from agitation that started under Obama and has continued through the media, local and national politicians since Treyvon Martin's death. The violence has been justified and excused for too long. So long that people are now resorting to defending their own property because the police can't/won't whether by choice or by design. That is how this latest violence came about.
But it could have been prevented. Even with all the steps the Democrats have taken to weaken law enforcement and prop up violence, there was an option that would have made self defence unnecessary.
It took people dying for this Democratic Party Governor to realize the mistakes that were made. I doubt the left on this board will agree that mistakes have been made by the left. I'm sure they'll try to find a way to tie this to President Trump. After all, his great great great grandad rounded up all the slaves that were sent to America...probably.
Too little too late Gov Evers.
We can now project that Donald J. Trump will win Wisconsin on November 3rd.

Think of the logistics of this. This kid, a minor, is in possession of a weapon that he has carried across state lines to join a group to "protect" property of people he does not know. Where were his parents in this?

I see people protesting, some rioting and looting but I've yet to see their (D) card.
Maybe the only political angle is, "local government law enforcement, please stop killing black people."
It's kinda obvious what the issue is, yet the state worshipers only see citizens who should be punished. Like you guys ever would have rebeled against Britain. Damned Tories, one and all.
