AND Solar lives on in your heads rent free. Solar for the win.
Does he charge you rent for living in his appendix? ..
If I'm not mistaken, road apples begin their lives in the lower intestines of jack asses.
Until they don't.
Then we get to "debate" them.

No one deserves this more. I've been active on forums since the days of BBS (Bulletin Board Systems) on Telnet.. The late 70s early 80s. I had a Commodore PET 2001 (Personal Electronic Transactor) and a Hayes modem ... Hot shit in those days. I've interacted with dozens of other BBS/Forum Admins. Solar is unique among them. The most paranoid, uninformed, douche I've encountered in over 4 decades of posting. In the Universe of Assholes he is God. He is the reason for humans having a middle finger. To borrow a line from Hitchens "If you gave Solar an enema, you could bury him in a matchbox."
I am delighted this happened.
Nice. Didn't know internet forums were that old. They were still pretty archaic when I started frequenting them around age 11-12 [Late 90s] compared to the activity you get today. I started on the Yahoo forums [Back when they had actual message boards], jumped around to different mostly political forums, and eventually on the MySpace forums back when that social platform was popular. A few of us came from MySpace, including Josie.
And yeah, Solar doesn't really have the backbone to be the leader of a forum, much less a political forum. In fact, I consider forums boring unless there is adversity but apparently, some people love the circle jerks and he's one of them. He must have some strong forearms. I haven't had much problem with Taxed outside of the usual political arguments. The forum was going relatively fine with just him and only imploded when Solar decided to come back from my observations.

Actually internet forums didn't really exist much before the rise of the World Wide Web in the 90's.
However there were BBS based fora in the 1980's, where one could dial into a service like Compuserve and access a number of forums for discussion/sharing/etc.
Yes, there was the ARPANET (created by, of all agencies, the Dept. Defense) in the 70's, with the development of the TCP/IP protocol. But if I'm not mistaken access to ARPANET was largely restricted to government agencies and maybe large corporations, and maybe educational institutions. The BBS dial-up system opened it up to Joe Public, and the the WWW made it very nearly universal.
If I got some of these facts wrong I apologize for sending our more OCD members into death spirals.

Yeah, I was 10 when I got my first computer [Windows '96] and 56k internet connection [Where a phone call would disrupt your internet connection lol]. I started getting big into philosophy and politics about 2 years later. Also was a big fan of the old school adventure games from Sierra.

I started accessing Compuserve for lab work-related matters back in 1983, and shortly thereafter bought my own PC-clone. I was also taking night classes in Computer Electronics so it was a bit synergistic. And at the same time I started accessing non-work related BBS systems from home. In a few years I was doing IT type work full time (local area networks for businesses) and it was good while it lasted (until the dot-com balloon burst and took the entire industry down with it). I moved on but of course the internet was going strong by then.

US/UK int. networks... early 90s. We had comms based on preconfigured keys plus voice and some data inputs. Based in Cyprus I would chat on screen with US operators in Crete, Italy, Germany & my oppos in UK, Malta, Gibraltar. The chat facility was suspended after a British lance-corporal offended an American Major (doing the exact same job as the British lance-jack) over a Vietnam joke on 4th of July. Senseof humour failure there,... USAF.... Greg?

Dear Solar, I have been thoughtless in not taking the time to thank you for inspiring so so many EXCELLENT, bright, thoughtful, quick-witted posters (and Abe ) to join this forum. I believe for many it is the first time posting on a forum where they are equally valued as contributors to broad and interesting discussions. I freely give you credit for their capacity to distinguish the difference. Your unique skills as a forum administrator has taught me much about forum management. When to use intimidation over denigration, how to deny reality with a threat, your expert use of conspiracy theories, and your tired debunked narratives used as lube for seemingly limitless circle jerks. Though none of those things have a place here your examples were nonetheless invaluable in setting the theme for this space. Should someday your leucotomy heal and you or your swollen hemorrhoids.. taxed and walks .. wish to experience an honest discussion for the first time please don't hesitate to drop by and of course register. I will be delighted to pin your sorry ass to the mat as I have so many times in the past but given the competence and awareness of nearly every poster here I will likely have to wait my turn. Regards, Admin. LNF Hall of Fame post, right there.

Well, sort of. I have a couple of fish ponds but they purely for entertainment purposes. My fish are trained to mimic various conservative figures, and they do a stand up job. Or, should I say, a fins up job?
There's a big orange one, that hogs all the food. Guess who he mimics best.

He doesn't need one. It's al his own hair. He grows it from his tail fins and then combs it all the way back to his head, where he puts it in a big whirl.
